POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for day-to-day office operations, as well as programmatic and student-related clerical functions of The Spurwink School. 

 

Receptionist/front office duties, telephone/emails, mail, walking students to class 

 

Typing of confidential reports and evaluations, filing, student attendance, and record keeping 

 

Coordinate school lunch program 

 

Inventory control and supply ordering, office machine maintenance 

 

Building safety and security 

 

Assist with other relevant office procedures; other duties may be assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a professional office environment required, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. 

 

Excellent typing skills and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, MS Office 365 Outlook, Teams, Calendars 

 

Strong communication skills; exhibit interpersonal skills to relate well with students, parents, staff, and school departments including during difficult and emotional situations 

 

Detail-oriented, accurate and organized with ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions 

 

Ability to uphold a strict level of confidentiality 

 

Speak and understand Spanish a plus 

 

HOURS: Full-Time, 8:15 A.M. – 3:15 P.M. 

 

REPORTS TO: Carol Lizotte, Office Manager 

 

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

Position: Special Education Teacher

Essential Duties: Teaching in a small, therapeutic school for students who face challenges with emotional regulation and social skills for relationships.

Design and implementation of IEP's as well as provision of behavioral supports.

You will be part of an integrated team of professionals who strive to meet the needs of each child.

Qualifications: RI Certification for K-8 Special Education or Middle School

Hours: Full Time (36 hours) year-round position
